Sports Fitness and Fun is now an official Reebok/ Spartan Race Training Affiliate. The facility has announced its new obstacle course training class, held each Saturday from 8 to 9 a.m., until June 1. This class is designed to help people train for Reebok Spartan Races, mud runs and dashes, whether you're a beginner, intermediate or a hardcore warrior. This is the only indoor obstacle training course in Orange County.

The Spartan Obstacle Course Training class, led by Coach/Motivators William Burwell and Melissa Rimpici, offers a challenging and fun workout for all fitness levels. Numerous obstacles, such as rope climb, simulated mud crawl, cargo net traverse, balancing, team building skills, some surprise challenges, along with strength and conditioning are part of this class. Sports Fitness and Fun is offering a complimentary first class for anyone aged 14 or over. Participants should wear comfortable clothes and sneakers, and bring water.

Burwell is a certified personal trainer and strength specialist with 17 years of experience training actors, models, athletes, wheelchair athletes and everyone in between. Rimpici is the Sports Fitness and Fun program director and 12-year certified Junior Olympic gymnastics instructor.

Both coaches are excited to offer this opportunity.

"This is a perfect way to prepare for any mud race or run, plus it's really fun with a unique and diverse workout plan," said Rimpici. "You get to jump into the pit, crawl over a cargo net and more, increasing your strength and endurance in a positive team environment. It's ideal training for a race, but it's also just a great way to improve your health, no matter what condition you're in. This is a great class for all fitness levels."

Attendees are encouraged to register with the SFF Spartan Race Team for races this June, held in Tuxedo, but this is not a requirement. For more information, call 845-651-1000
