WVHS announces class of 2021 valedictorian and salutatorian

Warwick Valley High School is proud to announce the valedictorian and salutatorian of the Class of 2021: Congratulations to valedictorian Julia Mosier and salutatorian Simone Sullivan.

“These two girls are incredibly gifted,” said WVHS Principal Marguerite Fusco. “The combination of their hard work, academic success, athleticism, artistic talent, personal integrity and kindness and compassion toward others has elevated them to inspirational levels of distinction and achievement.”

Julia Mosier

Julia Mosier will attending Cornell University in Ithaca in the fall, and plans a double major in applied economics and management and neuroscience.

Julia is a member of the WVHS Track and Volleyball teams. She performs with the Meistersingers and was selected to the All Eastern Honors Mixed Choir Ensemble this year.

Julia was also selected to represent the Warwick community at the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) conference. RYLA assists outstanding high school students in developing leadership skills and good citizenship, as well as emphasizing the advantages of the free enterprise system.

Julia is the President of the Henry C. Lamoreaux Warwick Chapter of the National Honor Society and is a member of Mu Alpha Theta. Julia has also served as her senior class treasurer.

Simone Sullivan

Simone Sullivan will attend Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., in the fall, where she will pursue a major in chemical engineering with a focus in sustainability and pharmaceuticals.

Simone has been an integral member of the Warwick Valley Girls Track, Cross Country and Ski teams. She is a member of the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta. Simone has served as the treasurer of the WVHS Student Senate and also as the student co-representative to the Board of Education.

Julia and Simone will be recognized at the Orange Ulster BOCES Outstanding Student Award Ceremony at the Goshen High School stadium on June 2.
