On Wednesday, July 15, Ashish Anand, owner of State Farm on 40 1/2 Main Street (Carriage Path), presented Sue Ferro, the executive director of Winslow Therapeutic Riding Center, with a check for $500.

The center has been serving the Hudson Valley for more than 40 years.

Anand recognized the needs of the therapeutic and rehab center for assistance during this time of COVID-19 when the center was seriously affected by closing its doors.

He knew, for instance, that more than 20 horses needed to be fed and cared for each day, stalls need to be cleaned as well as the many animals on the farm, which normally serve to provide activities for the many special needs population.

“It was in that spirit,” said Ferro, “that Ashish chose to provide Winslow with this check for a well-needed $500. And it is in that same spirit that Winslow Therapeutic Riding Center will weather the storm.”
