Warwick Valley Rotary Club presents Flags for Heroes display

WARWICK. Flags for Heroes display on Route 94 gives family and friends the opportunity to honor the sacrifice and service of a loved one.

Driving down Route 94, the formation of flags is a striking sight.

Displayed in front of Chateau Hathorn, each 3-foot by 5-foot flag bears the name of someone's personal hero.

The Warwick Valley Rotary Club's Flags for Heroes display gives family members and friends the opportunity to honor the sacrifice and service of a loved one, according to the organization's web site.

According to the club, they will remain on display through Sunday, Sept. 15.

The flags will also be illuminated at night thanks to Allied Excavating, the club said.

The Warwick Valley Rotary Club supports a number of organizations, including Honor Flight, local and international disaster relief, Warwick youth sports, Habitat for Humanity, Dictionary Project, college scholarships, Youth Fishing Day (Warwick Rod and Gun Club), Winslow Therapeutic Center, Inspire (Cerebral Palsy), Warwick Humane Society, Rotoplast, Beautiful People, Garden of the Child, Warwick Senior BBQ, Hospice of Orange County, Warwick Valley Community Center, Meals on Wheels and all of the local food pantries.
