In response to an increased use of e-cigarettes and vapes by their students, the principals of Warwick Valley High School, Middle School and S.S. Seward Institute in Florida will join forces to present an informational forum for the community on the dangers and availability of these products to students.

The forum will take place on Monday, March 2, at 7 p.m. at the Warwick Valley Middle School, located at 225 West St. in Warwick.

The keynote speaker will be MaryAlice Kovatch, prevention coordinator with The Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Council of Orange County. She will share details about e-cigarettes, vapes and the threat posed to the health of students.

“While we realize this issue may be uncomfortable to discuss, it undoubtedly needs to be addressed in our homes and in our schools," the principals wrote in a joint letter announcing the forum. "The health and safety of our children will always remain our top priority."
