On hand for the small, intimate ceremony were Warwick Village Mayor Michael Newhard, Warwick Town Supervisor Michael Sweeton, Orange County Legislator and Deputy Mayor Barry Cheney, Warwick Town Councilmen Floyd DeAngelo and Jim Gerstner, the Warwick Little League Board of Directors, along with parents and players.

Describing the girls as role models to the people in Warwick after their win, Supervisor Michael Sweeton presented the girls with a proclamation saying week of Sept. 29 through Oct. 3 will be recognized as “Major Girls Softball -District 19 Week” in the Town of Warwick.

Manager Charlotte Garofalo expressed her gratitude on behalf of all parents and players.

“The girls will never forget the day they won in front of their home town family and friends,” Garofalo said. “Very memorable. I couldn’t be happier for all of them.”
