Warwick. Experience living history at Baird’s Tavern Sept. 23

| 04 Sep 2020 | 03:41

Patrons of Baird’s Tavern will be treated to an immersive living history experience on Wednesday, Sept. 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. when reenactors and historians gather to share tales and trials of the Revolutionary War period.

Step back in time at the old tavern, built in 1766, and interact with people who will entertain and educate you with descriptions of the life of a soldier in the War for Independence, clothing and household items from Colonial times, and how everyday life at that time is similar to and different from our daily lives.

There is no cost to attend. Get into character and decide if you are a Patriot or a Loyalist, and join the conversation about the revolution.

Baird’s Tavern is one of the oldest structures in the Village of Warwick with a storied past. The second and third floors of the building are preserved and furnished by the Warwick Historical Society as they would have been during Colonial times.

The first floor was renovated and reopened as a working tavern in 2017.
