Village Elections: Sept. 15

Warwick. Village elections to be held in Florida, Greenwood Lake and Warwick.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo postponed village elections, originally scheduled for March, out of safety concerns regarding the coronavirus pandemic.

Those elections are now rescheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 15. Here’s a summary of the village elections in Florida, Greenwood Lake and Warwick:

Village of Florida

Mayor (three-year term)

Daniel Harter Jr., incumbent

Village trustee (two seats; three-year term)

Thomas Fuller, incumbent

Craig Olejniczak, incumbent

In-person voting will be held at the Senior Center, located at Cohen Circle, from noon to 9 p.m.

Village of Greenwood Lake

Village trustee (two seats)

Katheleen Holder, incumbent

Chad Sellier, incumbent

In-person voting The election will be held at the Greenwood Lake Senior Center located at 132 Windermere Ave. from noon to 9 p.m.

Village of Warwick

Village trustee (two seats)

Corey Bachman

Barry Cheney, incumbent

Alfonso Gonnella

Stephen Kitar

In-person voting will be held at the Goodwill Hook & Ladder Company, 25 Church Street Extension with polls open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Important dates
Monday, Sept. 14: Last day for the Village Clerk to receive personal applications in the Clerk’s Office for an absentee ballot from applicants or applicant’s agent. Upon receiving an application, the clerk will deliver the absentee ballot to the applicant or their agent named in the application.
Election Day, Tuesday, Sept. 15: All absentee ballots must be received by close of polls on Election Day.
