Township woman killed in Oakland, New Jersey crash

Warwick. A 24-year-old township woman is dead following a head on collision in Oakland, New Jersey on Tuesday, police there said.

A 24-year-old woman from Warwick was killed following a head on collision in Oakland, New Jersey, on Tuesday morning, police there said.

According to Oakland police, the woman, independently identified from a provided obituary as Danielle Marie Lopez, was driving a 2001 Toyota Corolla south on Skyline Drive when she crossed over the double-yellow line at 8:18 a.m. Tuesday, colliding with a 2011 Volkswagen Routan van near mile marker .5.

Police officers and members of the Oakland, Ringwood, Pompton Lakes and Wycoff first aid squads responded along with the Oakland Volunteer Fire Department and a paramedic unit from Chilton Medical Center.

Lopez was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The driver of the van, a 42-year-old man from Springfield, Massachusetts, and four passengers in that vehicle were taken to a local hospital for moderate, non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Lopez, the daughter of Herman Lopez and Robin Snyder Lopez, was born Nov. 6, 1995, in Manhattan.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her maternal grandmother, Adrienne Snyder; paternal grandmother, Rose Guzman; two stepbrothers, Christopher and Peter Lopez; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Graveside services were to be held Friday, Nov. 22 at St. Joseph Cemetery, 616 Union Corners Road in Florida, New York.
