The Florida NY Farmers Market and the Florida Chamber of Commerce sponsored the second annual pumpkin decorating contest open to all the students, Pre-K to Senior, of the Florida School District.

The entries ranged from unicorns, superheroes, candy and grandmas to sports and a puffer fish.

The pumpkins were donated by Shuback Farms, 229 Mt. Eve Road, Goshen, and S &SO Produce Farm, 234 Mt. Eve Road, Goshen.

Students picked up the pumpkins at the market and decorated them in any medium, returning them to the market to display prior to judging. Voting was done by ballots provided to vendors of the market and then tabulated by chamber members.

The awards were $30 first place , $20 second place and $10 third place in each division and winning pumpkins were then displayed at New Beginnings Spa, 2 N. Main St. in the Village of Florida.
