Brabenec sworn in for third term

PORT JERVIS — Assemblyman Karl A. Brabenec (R, C, I, Ref - Deerpark) was sworn in for a third term on Saturday, Jan. 5, in Port Jervis by Orange County Court Judge Robert Freehill.
Brabenec, the newly appointed Assistant Minority Whip, told the crowd of about 70 people that he plans to continue his fight for school property tax reform, infrastructure improvements, protecting law enforcement and first responders and supporting the agriculture community in the state.
Brabenec also announced that he has reappointed his current staff for another two-year term.
The appointments are:
• Joseph Coleman of Florida as chief of staff;
• Suzanne Edzenga of Glen Spey as deputy chief of staff;
• Kathleen O'Connell of Greenville as district office director;
• Ryan Zygmunt of Warwick as director of community relations; and
• Michael Dolan of Sloatsburg as Rockland County community liaison.
