The weekend of June 13-15 saw the 50-year reunion of the graduating class 1969 from S.S. Seward Institute in Florida.
Friday evening a meet and greet gathering with dinner was held at Rookie’s Pizzeria on North Main Street in the Village of Florida.
One Saturday afternoon class members were treated to a tour of their alma mater and were delighted to not only see the updates that have happened through the years but pleased in recognizing the beautiful history of the school that has been left intact.
That led to much discussion about teachers, classrooms, lockers and school “antics” memories.
As is a tradition, they posed in front of the William Henry Seward monument, much like they did in their senior year.
The graduate who traveled the farthest distance was Joan Kamrowski Malek, who resides in California.
The Class of 1969 joined the graduating class of 2019 at the Middletown Elks Lodge on Saturday evening for a banquet, introductions and awards for the seniors.
Introductions for the 50-year class were made by class president Louis Sosler.
It was a great weekend for the Spartans.
