William ‘Bill’ H. McClennan

William “Bill” H. McClennan of Highland Mills entered into eternal rest on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2021, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 91 years old.

The son of Winfield McClennan and Dorothy (Hamilton) McClennan, Bill was born on Oct. 31, 1929, in Newburgh.

Bill was a retired plant supervisor for Central Hudson Electric & Gas Company in Newburgh. He honorably and proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

Bill was a former member of the Woodbury Community Ambulance and the Woodbury Fire Department.

“Pop” enjoyed building wooden toys and gifts for his children and grandchildren. He loved traveling the country with Norma, playing golf and Casey Key, Florida. He will be missed greatly but is now with the ones he loved in Heaven.

Bill was predeceased by his loving wife: Norma J. (Dutt) McClennan in 2000. He is survived by his daughters: Debra J. (McClennan) Wagner and her husband Robert of Nokomis, Fla., and Barbara D. (McClennan) Gutierrez and her husband Leonel of Highland Mills; his grandchildren: Teddy (Courtney), Richard (Amy) and Daniel (Susan) Ottman; Ryan, Michael and Taylor Wagner; Jessica, Stefani and William (Lindsey) McClennan; Alex Gutierrez; his great-grandchildren: Finlay, Colton, Eelin, Hudson, Luna Mae, Cash and William; and his daughter-in-law: Melani McClennan.

In addition to his wife, Bill was predeceased by his children: Sandy (McClennan) Ottman and her husband Theodore and William S. McClennan; his grandson: Joey McClennan; and his brother: Scott McClennan.

A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 20, at the Cemetery of the Highlands in Highland Mills.
