Stanley E. Phillips

Stanley E. Phillips of Coventry passed away Sunday, Feb. 14, 2021, at Wilson Hospital in Johnson City. He was 84 years old.

He was born July 7, 1936, the son of Stanley G. and Viola (Greene) Phillips in Warwick, N.Y.

Following high school, he served his country with the United States Army in Europe. Stan was honorably discharged in 1958.

He worked for Union Carbide in Sterling Garden and taught electronics for DCMO BOCES.

He also owned and operated Bud’s Electronics in Coventry and he would repair TVs and other electronics.

Stan was an avid sportsman and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Stan also loved to help with the family Christmas tree farm in Coventry.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 61 years, Janet; his sons Todd and Cynthia Phillips and Duane and Shannon Phillips; his grandsons Jack and Maria, Sagle, ID, Joseph, San Antonio, Texas; granddaughter Cassidy and her fiancé Joe Beckwith of East Syracuse.

Graveside services with military honors will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Afton at a later date.
