Robert Taylor was born in the Bronx to Glad C. Taylor and Louise E. Bettini on March 3, 1936. Robert, who had lived in Greenwood Lake since 1989, has passed away Saturday, Aug. 29, 2020.

Robert was a Korean War Veteran who served in the U.S. Navy on a Mine Sweeper. After his honorable discharge in 1957, Robert went on to becoming a construction supervisor until his retirement in 1989. But not yet ready to retire, he went to work doing maintenance at the Greenwood Lake Animal Hospital in Hewitt, N.J., for the last 26 years.

Robert was an avid car show participant with many trophies that he was very proud of. He loved riding his 1972 Harley and has been riding motorcycles since the age of 17.

Prior to his riding motorcycles, Bob was one of the biggest fans of the New York Yankees.

Robert was married to Sylvia Pomilio for 27 years who passed away unexpectedly at the age of 44 in 1981; he was also the oldest of four brothers, Ronald, Richard and Rory, who are predeceased.

He leaves behind three daughters: Louise Troitino and her husband Manny, Christine Basile and her husband Richard, and Donna LoCicero and her husband Freddy. He also leaves behind three grandchildren: Danielle, Vincent and Gianna; and Bob’s partner Vicki Parker.

Funeral arrangements were provided by Sisto Funeral Home Inc. in the Bronx.
