It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Patricia Ann Smith.

She had a sharp Irish wit, soft green eyes that came straight from the rolling meadows of the family’s ancestral home in Kilfinane, a beautiful laugh that made the birds sing and a love for her family that knew no bounds.

Born in the Bronx, the youngest in a close-knit family, she is survived by her husband Thomas, daughter Laura and son-in-law John, grandchildren Ellie, Finn, Easton and Wylder, sister Barbara, brothers Matt and Dennis, and a large extended family. Pat was predeceased by her parents Matthew and Edna, brothers Robert and Donald, and son John.

After growing up in the Bronx, Pat and her first husband, Ronald, moved to Goshen. Pat spent many years in Goshen raising her children, working as a medical receptionist and being the quintessential soccer mom.

With her second husband, she moved to Middletown to be closer to work, but the call of grandchildren was strong, so Pat and Tom retired to the Park City area to watch the youngest generation grow and flourish.

Pat’s passing has left a deep ache in our hearts, one that will not diminish with the passing of time. She will be sorely missed, but remembered fondly in the stories we will tell for years to come.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, Aug. 14, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church St., Goshen.

Burial will follow at Wallkill Cemetery in Middletown.

Arrangements under the care of the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., Goshen.
