James,"Doc,"Montaperto, 69 of Milford, Pa., passed away Friday, Aug. 10, 2018, at Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx.
He was a retired mechanic for Miller Automatic in Monticello.
Jim was a member of Good Shepherd & St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in Milford, Pa., and was member and past Exalted Ruler of B.P.O.E Lodge #2067 in Greenwood Lake, N.Y.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of the Marsch Kellogg American Legion Post #139 in Milford, Pa.
The son of Alfred and Dorothy (Taylor) Montaperto, he was born Sept. 4, 1948, in Brooklyn.
He was married to Carmela (Healey) Montaperto for 45 years.
Survivors include his wife Carmela; daughter Michelle Smith, her husband Joe and their children Christopher and Tabitha; son Jim Montaperto, his wife Michelle and their children Kayla and Alyssa; son Anthony Montaperto, his wife Frani, and their children Olivia, Jaxon and Serafina; brothers George Montaperto andTom Montaperto; sisters Dorothy Ann Schultze, Tony Marie Hodgkins and Lisa Lenz; and many nieces and nephews.
The family received friends at Good Shepherd and St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in Milford, Pa. Funeral services also were held at church with Reverend Van A. Bankston officiating with military honors to follow.
