James J. Maloney of Warwick passed into eternal rest on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020, after a relatively short period of illness. He was 78 years old.

He was born on Aug. 5, 1941, to Rose and Dennis Maloney in St. Vincent’s Hospital in Greenwich Village, NY and raised in Brooklyn. He attended OLPH Grammar School, St. Francis Prep and Fort Hamilton High Schools.

James joined the United States Marine Corps Reserves and the N.Y.S. National Guard when his reserve duty was completed. He attended both Brooklyn College and Rockland Community College, but focused on becoming a licensed U.S. Customs Broker and served as president for 48 years for H.W. Robinson.

James is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jane; their two children: Denise Maloney-Piren and her husband James, and Jake S. Maloney and his wife Rafaella; and five grandsons: Dennis, Patrick, Matthew, Luca and James; as well as several nieces and nephews.
