Edward A. Carr

    Edward A. Carr, a lifetime resident of Warwick, passed away on Monday, Sept. 20, 2021, at Schervier Pavilion. He was 81 years old.

    Born on May 3, 1940, in Middletown, he was the son of Lawrence and Eva (Theis) Carr.

    Prior to his retirement, Ed was a lineman with Orange & Rockland Utilities, working out of Monroe. Ed was a volunteer firefighter for the Warwick Fire Department for many years and was an original member of Engine Company 3.

    Ed was predeceased by his beloved wife of 60 years, Linda, and is survived by their children: Larry Carr and his wife Kelly of Front Royal, Va., Mark Carr of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and Shelley Carr of Warwick; five grandchildren: Kady Adams (Ford), Greg, Wes, Matthew and Jason Carr; and three great-grandchildren: Wells, Hattie and Rose. He was also predeceased by his brother, Fred.

    Memorial visitation was held Sept. 28 at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick. A funeral service followed visitation that evening.
