Warwick. Volunteers responded to 129 calls for help during August.

    The volunteers of Warwick Community Ambulance answered 129 calls during August, including 20 falls, 12 motor vehicle accident and four cases where someone overdosed.

    The month’s activity also included 12 standby assignments. In all, the volunteers worked 181 hours last month.

    Since Jan. 1, Warwick Community Ambulance has answered 1,112 calls, plus 42 standbys, requiring 1,708 hours of work.

    Here’s how the numbers for August breakdown:

    General illness: 39

    Falls: 20

    Difficulty breathing: 13

    Motor vehicle incidents: 12

    Cardiac: 8

    Injury: 8

    Medic alert activation: 6

    Unresponsive: 6

    Overdose: 4

    Seizures: 3

    Fire/carbon monoxide: 5

    Other: 5
