Pine Island Chamber to host Pumpkinfest on Oct. 14

On Columbus Day, Monday, Oct. 14, the Pine Island Chamber of Commerce will host and sponsor Pumpkinfest, a family friendly event, especially designed for kids.

The event, a fun-filled afternoon of activities, will be held at Pine Island Town Park (Kay Road off County Route 1) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The cost is $5 for participating children.

Pumpkinfest is a great way to celebrate the local harvest of pumpkins and spend the day outdors enjoying the warm sunshine and crisp fall air.

The day features pumpkin painting, face and henna painting, crafts, a children’s bouncy house, games, State Trooper, touch-a-tractor, the Orange County Sports Club, Karate Quest Dojo, ShopRite, Greenwood Lake Rock Underground, D’Antono Dance Academy, entertainment, other organizations and numerous other activities.

Attendees can enjoy ice cream from The Dairy ‘O and food from Pitchfork Barbecue & Biscuits and other vendors.

The event is held at the pavilion and fields of Pine Island Town Park where guests may also visit the park’s Butterfly Garden and newly updated playground area complete with a giant onion with climbing nets, swings, slides and a play pirate ship.
