Music for Humanity raffle is coming up

CHESTER Music for Humanity is holding its annual raffle on Thursday, Dec. 22, and all are welcome to join in and help support music in the Hudson Valley. Tickets are $10 each and go to support music scholarships for local students.
The group will give out $9,000 in prize money on Dec. 22, including $5,000, $3,000 and $1,000 prizes.
Interested in buying a ticket? Go to Outdoors of Chester, 6 Howland St., Peck's Wine and Spirits on Bank Street in Warwick or online at musicforhumanity.org. Donations are accepted online as well.
So far, nearly 1,000 tickets have been sold, according to Barry Adelman, co-founder of Music for Humanity. He also sells raffle tickets wherever he is. You can usually find him at Caffe ala Mode in Warwick on Friday nights at their open mic.
Music for Humanity free performance night
Music for Humanity hosts a free show each and every month. They've done it 78 times already. On Saturday, Dec. 17, the 79th show will take place at Noble Coffee Roasters in Campbell Hall.
Performing are Maxfield Panish, a two-time winner of the MFH scholarship, Montgomery Delaney and Debbie Fisher.
Music starts at 7:30 p.m. but if you want a seat, best to arrive by 7 p.m.
Music for Humanity exists to help spread more music throughout the world. The group has given 31 music scholarships, a total of $55,000. The goal for 2017 is to give another $20,000.
