FLORIDA — The Florida Public Library's budget for 2019-2020 was approved by the voters on Thursday, April 4.

The proposed tax levy of $472,458 received 119 yes votes and 24 no votes.

Three incumbent trustees were also reelected:

• Diane Arcieri (126 votes) and Cecelia Lillard (120 votes) were reelected to full three-year terms.

• Board newcomer Kevin Lundell received 113 votes to win a one-year term.

Write-in votes were received for Tom Chevrier (2), Lori Coleman Whitmore (1), Stella Kosior (1) and Nancy Scott (1). Kosior and Scott already serve as library trustees. "We are grateful for the support of the community and are committed to helping our residents register so that they are able to vote in every election," Library Director Madelyn Folino said. "There are several ways to register and library staff are happy to help."

The library is located at 4 Cohen Circle and is open seven days a week.
