— The Orange County 4-H program is offering archery on Thursday evenings, April 18 through June 13.

This program is designed for middle school and high school youth. The course will be held at the Cornell Cooperative Extension Education Center and 4-H Park, 300 Finchville Turnpike, Otisville.

4-H Youth Development programs use experiential learning to help youth gain life skills and positive outcomes in four areas of:

Mastery of subject matter interests

Belonging to groups of positive peers and adults

Independence from confidence gained

Generosity as they contribute to their communities

Participating youth will have opportunity to experience growth in these areas as they learn and demonstrate: an understanding of the history of archery, safety on the range, archery range equipment, proper shooting form and technique, how to select and maintain equipment and, how to make some form of archery tack.

The primary goals of the program are to help youth demonstrate safety and concern for others, exercise discipline while achieving goals, and connect to their natural environment.

Program fees are $60 per person for 4-H and non 4-H youth

Register online at Registration closes April 15.
