Photo by Robert G. Breese Every year for Memorial Day the boy scouts place an American flag at the grave site of General John Hathorn who was a Warwick resident and served in the Revolutionary War. He is buried next to his wife in the Warwick Cemetery; her stone is on the right.
The Town of Warwick Supervisor Michael Sweeton ask residents to take a moment to join one of the Memorial Day observances on Monday, May 25, and pay their respects.
Pine Island
Observances will begin at 8 a.m. with Mass in Pine Island, followed by a parade beginning at 9 a.m.
Village of Warwick
The Village of Warwick will hold a parade 11 a.m. which begins at the Warwick Village Hall. Ceremonies will be held at the Warwick Cemetery and St. Stephen's Cemetery.
The parade will end at the Fireman's Memorial in Memorial Park.
Village of Florida
The Memorial Day parade begins at 2 p.m.
Village of Greenwood Lake
A Memorial Day service will be held at the American Legion Post #1443 beginning at 2 p.m.
