Chester offers free Tuesday concerts

Evening performances planned behind village hall through the spring and summer

— The Village of Chester music series is offering free concerts on selected Tuesdays in the parking lot behind Village Hall, 47 Main Street.

Supported by local businesses, the concerts will be offered behind village hall, 7 to 9 p.m., throughout the spring and summer according to the following schedule:

May 23 (rain date: May 30) — Lot 14

June 13 (rain date: June 30) — Dan Brother Band

June 27 (no rain date) — Twisted Cork

July 11 (rain date: July 18) — E'Lissa Jones Band

July 25 (rain date: Aug. 1) — John Sheehan

Sept. 5 (rain date: Sept. 12) — Sixty Seven Ridge

Sept. 19 (rain date: Sept. 26) — 20/20

Refreshments will be available. Raffle tickets sold at these events will benefit the Chester Historical Society.

Two-day festival in AugustThe village will hold a two-day street festival downtown on Aug. 12 and 13, rain or shine, on Main Street and in the village parking lot behind village hall. Local restaurants and the Rushing Duck Brewing Co. are participating.

The festival will feature local vendors offering crafts, face painting, henna body art, and more; live music; performances by Flexibility in Flight and the New York Dance Center; and a car show.

Chester businessman Mike Farrow is the organizing force behind these events.
