WARWICK — The Village of Warwick and the state Department of Transportation will hold a public informational meeting regarding the proposed construction of a sidewalk on West Street at Warwick Town Hall on Thursday, July 31, at 7 p.m.

According to a press released from Village Clerk Jo-Ann Rome, the village’s engineer is working with the DOT in developing design studies for the construction of the sidewalk on West Street.

The project will start at Pond Hill Avenue and extend to St. Stephens Lane.

The proposed project, under the Safe Routes to School Program, would be 0.8 miles long.

The purpose of the meeting is to obtain comments on the proposed project from individuals, groups, officials and local agencies.

The DOT is specifically soliciting comments on the development of alternates for the project and comments on the project's social, economic and environmental effects.

Anyone interested in attending the meeting who needs a sign language interpreter, assistive listening system or any other accommodation should contact the village clerk at 845-986-2031.

The clerk's office also can provide additional information by calling that same number

Written comments also may be sent to the village clerk at clerk@villageofwarwick.org or P.O. Box 369, Warwick, NY 10990.
