Warwick. Vehicle strikes Park Ave School

This Christmas Eve and Christmas Day was a busy one for Warwick firefighters who responded to multiple storm-related calls for service during the rain storm.

One instant included a motor vehicle accident involving a vehicle that struck the Park Avenue Elementary School Building in the Village of Warwick.

The sole occupant was evaluated by Warwick EMS. The Warwick Fire Department assisted at the scene. The vehicle was removed by Freeman’s Towing and the building will be evaluated by the Warwick Valley Central District Maintenance Department and the Village of Warwick Building Inspectors Office.

Meanwhile, according to the weekly activity report provided by Michael Contaxis, the fire department’s 1st assistant chief as well and its Fire Prevention chairman, the Warwick Fire Department has responded to 402 calls for service since Jan. 1, including a mutual aid call for a Fire in the Vernon N.J. Fire District.
