Peter M. Tiger, a longtime resident of Warwick, passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at St. Anthony Community Hospital due to complications from COVID-19. He was 85 years old.

Born in Basking Ridge, N.J., on Aug. 16, 1935, he was the son of Paul and Estelle Tiger.

Peter served his country proudly in the Army National Guard. He attended Lehigh University and Newark College of Engineering. He worked as a mechanical engineer as the owner of Service Maintenance Corporation in West Milford, N.J.

Pete and his wife were parishioners at Stockholm United Methodist Church in Stockholm, N.J.

Pete’s hobbies were designing and building homes for his family and organizing camping trips to Promised Land State Park in Pennsylvania. For many years he coached football for Bloomindale Youth Organization. He adored his four-legged friends, Duffy and Bailey, and they will miss him, too!

Pete is survived by his wife of 65 years, Barbara (nee Olson); children: Scott Tiger and his wife Lisa, Randy Tiger, Glenn Tiger and his wife Cindy, Wendy Tiger-Larson and her husband Jim, and Tim Tiger and his wife Beth; 15 grandchildren: Glenn P. Tiger, Jackie Tiger, Randal Tiger, Justin Larson, Timmy Tiger, Michalean Tiger, Clint Tiger, Samantha Tiger, Katie Tiger, Cory Tiger, Tiger Larson, Billy Tiger, Scott Tiger, Kaitlyn Leloup, Kerriann Leloup; and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his older brother Paul; younger brother Jim; and sister, Pamela.

A memorial service will be held at a future date yet to be determined. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Warwick Valley Humane Society, P.O. Box 61, Warwick, NY 10990.
