‘Yeah, a real leadership move’

Regarding the “compassion, empathy and professionalism “ letter by Christine Stage:

I respectfully disagree with your lauding the governor of NY as a”strong and able leader.”

He has at every turn of this pandemic willfully endangered not only the most vulnerable but all of us.

His decree that nursing homes must accept positive COVID patients knowingly and, in my opinion criminally, caused the deaths of more than 5,000 of our most precious citizens. Then, when called out, he attempted as usual to deflect responsibility to the president.

    Yeah, a real leadership move.

His release of hundreds of criminals from jail to “protect” them while we were told to stay in our homes tells us everything about his priorities.

Did the lock down serve to stem the tide of this illness? I certainly hope so.

The daily “briefings,” which enthralled so many clueless to Cuomo’s record as governor, were at best political theater, a daily dose of “look at me, look how hard I’m working for you” while his COVID-positive brother bikes around the Hamptons.

By comparison, let’s examine another state where a true leader as governor serves:

Florida, higher senior population, no COVID-positive patients dumped into nursing homes.

    Result? Far fewer deaths.

Florida serves as a true example of leadership, probably why so many folks leave New York to go there.

I love New York. Born and raised in Orange County. I don’t want to leave but the clueless tools in power serve only themselves.
