Monroe-Woodbury United Soccer Club captures the coveted 2018 Jefferson Cup

RICHMOND, Va. — Force FC is the premier arm of Monroe Woodbury United Soccer Club.
The Force FC ‘04 girls team was accepted this year to the prestigious 2018 Jefferson Cup Tournament. The Force went on to win its bracket with four wins, including three shutouts.
The Force emerged victorious by a score of 1-0 against Charlotte Soccer Academy Elite from North Carolina in the dying seconds of the final.
Only only goal was conceded during tournament play.
The Jefferson Cup, based in Richmond, Va., is the No. 1 ranked girls soccer tournament in the nation this year, according to soccer ranking site, GotSoccer.com.
Held annually since 1981, this year 376 teams participated in 43 different flights.
Coached by both Brendan Lawler (WSOC Coach at D1 Manhattan College) and Michael Morgante, the girls hail from Monroe, Central Valley, Highland Mills, Warwick, West Point and Tuxedo.
