The following information comes from the weekly report of the Warwick Fire Department provided by Michael Contaxis, the 1st Assistant Chief Warwick Fire Department and Fire Prevention Chairman:
Among the week’s highlights:
• The Warwick Fire Department has responded to 191 calls for service since Jan. 1.
• Last week, Engine Company #3 completed an engine operations drill at Warwick Memorial Park.
• The Goodwill Hook & Ladder Company # 1 and Raymond Hose Company # 2 held a joint drill at Warwick Station 4, completing ladder operations and placement.
• The Warwick Fire Department’s Extrication Team held its monthly scheduled drill at the Specht’s Family Garage on Covered Bridge Road. The WFD was lucky to have a representative from Res Q Jacks, who provided a demonstration on new rescue to tools that help secure vehicles during motor vehicle accidents. Warwick firefighters were able to work with the new Res Q Jacks with vehicle provided by the Specht’s Garage family. Thanks to Donna and Randy Specht for always providing us with vehicles for our extrication training.
