Warwick. Annual Halloween Parade another casualty of the Covid-19 pandemic

Last year it was a dark and stormy night – for real.

But the rain, heavy at times, and dark spooky clouds did not deter another record crowd from participating in the annual Halloween Parade.

But unfortunately, the pandemic, as recently reported in The Warwick Advertiser, has caused this year’s popular event to be canceled.

Nine years ago the annual Halloween Parade had been sponsored on alternate years by Warwick’s American Legion Post 214 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4662.

But since then, the popular annual event, boasting record crowds each year and even more creative costumes, has been sponsored by the Warwick Lions Club and the Village of Warwick Recreation Department.

Hopefully, we can expect another record turnout in 2021.

Trick or treating is allowed. Village officials request that precautions be made to ensure the safety of children and adults. The officials also request that trick or treating be done in the neighborhood you live in and limit the amount of time for this activity. Halloween fun at home with family or a small group of friends may be the safest alternative.
