— Warwick has a useful and dynamic mobile companion, the "Hey Warwick" smart phone app.
On Wednesday, Jan. 18, Town of Warwick Supervisor Michael Sweeton, Mayor Michael Newhard and Michael Johndrow, executive director of the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce, joined Searchlight Consulting owners Steve and Lisa Laico and staff to celebrate the first year anniversary of the firm's ''Hey Warwick" mobile app.
Hey Warwick is a free mobile app compatible with all Apple and Android smart phones. The app allows for direct dialing of important phone numbers and contains a GPS-enabled directory of events, restaurants, stores, recreation and classifieds.
Users save money using the coupons tab, earn shopping rewards using the loyalty tab and share photos via the galleries tab.
And daily text notifications alert the app's users to important community events and announcements.
In its inaugural year, Hey Warwick has been downloaded by more than 500 users interested in Warwick related alerts, deals and activities.
For a small fee, businesses can reach this same audience through the Hey Warwick "push notification" service which sends a text message to all app users at a specified time.
"In our current mobile world," said Steve Laico, "users are best reached via their smart phones."
Hey Warwick was developed by Searchlight Consulting, a web technology firm specializing in Internet software and services since 1998.
