Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus and Employment and Training Administration (ETA) Director Steve Knob have announced that the County will hold drive-thru job fairs from noon to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14, and Thursday, Oct. 15.

The October 14th event will be held at the Orange County Career Center, located at 18 Seward Ave. in Middletown.

The Armory Unity Center, located at 321 South Williams Street in Newburgh, will host the drive-thru job fair the following day.

“During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have worked diligently to assist residents seeking employment by utilizing different methods, including Zoom and online training,” Neuhaus said. “The drive-thru job fairs provide an alternate way to connect job seekers with employers. This event will be different than our previous job fairs with strict safety and social distancing guidelines in place, but we expect a great turnout and the County appreciates the continued support from employers from a variety of fields during this unprecedented time.”

Approximately 40 employers and recruiters will participate in the drive-thru job fairs. The companies represent multiple sectors, including health care, distribution, manufacturing, hospitality, transportation, and government, and will be hiring for a wide range of positions. Knob and his staff will be handing out packets containing opportunities from each employer.

Job seekers must stay in their cars and wear face masks. For more information about the drive-thru job fairs, visit www.orangecountygov.com/DriveThruJobFair or email shansen@orangecountygov.com.
