Applefest 2019 T-shirt design winners announced

Warwick. The 31st annual celebration is set for Sunday, Oct. 6.

The Applefest 2019 Committee has announced the winners of this year's 31st anniversary T-shirt design competition and expresses its appreciation to all who submitted a design.

In the adult category, First Prize was awarded to Connie Hegner, whose design will be printed on Applefest 2019 T-shirts and sold at Applefest on Sunday, Oct. 6. She will also receive a $50 Warwick Merchant Guild gift certificate.

The Second Prize-winner is Heather Arcelli, who will receive a $25 Warwick Merchant Guild gift certificate. The Third Prize-winner is John Thompson, who will receive a $10 Warwick Merchant Guild gift certificate.

Merchant Guild gift certificates may be used at a wide variety of stores, restaurants, and businesses in the Town of Warwick.

In the student category, First Prize was awarded to Shirley Chen, who will receive a $20 Warwick Merchant Guild gift certificate. The Second Prize student winner is Allison Starr, who will receive a $15 Warwick Merchant Guild gift certificate. The Third Prize student winner is John Powers, who will receive a $10 Warwick Merchant Guild gift certificate.

Before Applefest, all T-shirt design contest submissions will be displayed in the window of Akin's Pharmacy on Main Street.

After the festival, all entries will be available for pickup at the Chamber of Commerce Caboose on South Street until Nov. 4.
