    Albert Wisner Public Library announces its Summer Reading Clubs and Program for all ages.

    Registration is already underway on the Children’s and Tween’s virtual library page. Please be sure to provide an email address so we can send you Zoom links when needed. See the virtual link for all program details at http://www.albertwisnerlibrary.org

    Summer Reading BINGO for preschool-grade 2. Do some activities to receive stickers and prizes. Make three BINGOS to get a bag with prizes and a ticket to our Family Drive-In Movie Night. Details online.

    Summer Reading BINGO Challenge for grades 3-5. Do some reading/literacy activities. Make a BINGO and receive a backpack with some prizes and a ticket to our Family Drive-In Movie Night. Family Drive-In Movie Night will be held at the Warwick Drive-In on Wednesday, Aug. 5, compliments of Warwick Drive-In.

    Monday Family Craft Nights: For grades K-4. These crafts will be “take and make” from the Library. July 6–Decorate a journal using various materials. July 20-Create a small masterpiece on canvas to display on a little stand. August 3-Jewelry: make a pendant and a bracelet.

    Special events

    The Amazing Chase: A Family Scavenger Hunt Game: June 25 - June 27 Fun for all ages. Form a team with family members. This is an interactive community game where your team will complete missions, earn points and win prizes. You’ll be required to share photos/videos on a private AWPL Children’s Facebook page, so you’ll need an active Facebook page and a camera (smartphone camera is fine) to participate. One member from each team should register using a current email address which will be used in the game.

    Fuzzy Friend Campout: July 15 at 5:30 p.m. with Miss Teresa: Hear some bedtime stories, build a tent shelter or fort and tuck in your cuddly friend. You could even camp with your fuzzy friend. Make it a family campout.

    Art with Miss Judy: Join Miss Judy for a virtual demonstration on the Children’s private Facebook page. July 12: Paint a Cat or Dog Using Watercolors. We’ll supply a watercolor set. July 26: Make a collage using newspaper and magazines. Save your your newspapers and magazines this week to make a collage.

    Pet Show & Tell on Zoom: July 10 at 11 a.m. Introduce everyone to your pet or favorite stuffed animal. Tell us its name and how you take care of it. Please provide an active email to receive a Zoom link before the show.

    Talent Show: July 24 at 11 a.m. Can you sing, dance, play an instrument, recite a poem or do a magic trick? Sign up and show off your talents. Hear a story about performing. Please provide an active email to receive a Zoom link before the show.

    Show us your creativity! Aug. 7 at 11 a.m. Painting, construction, sculpture - all types of creativity. Tell us how you did it and how you feel about it. Please provide an active email to receive a Zoom link before the show.

    Pictionary Online: July 7 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Choose from three words, draw your word, and see if others can guess. You’ll need a laptop or tablet to play.

    Beaded Lizard Keychains: July 14 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Make a beaded key chain to hang on your backpack. We’ll supply the kit.

    My Crazy Journal: July 21 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Writing in a journal not your thing? Try writing with your food! Interview a vegetable. Design a postage stamp. Use any kind of notebook, drawing and painting supplies.

    Scattergories Online: July 28 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Select a category and a letter. How many words can you come up with that others don’t have?

    Paper Mache Boxes: Aug. 4 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Turn a plain box into a jewel with library supplied materials. Add your own, too. You’ll need Elmer’s or School Glue, not a glue stick.

    Page Turners Adventures Virtual Summer Library Programs: Ten weeks of comedy, crafts, recipes, author interviews, guest performers, games and more. Posted Mondays beginning June 15, on AWPL’s private Children’s Facebook page. Please email warkids@rcls.org to request to be added to the private group, providing your name, library card bar code number and best way to reach you in case of a question.

    Traveling Lantern Theatre Company: July 16 at 6:45 p.m. Legends & Myths from Mt. Olympus: from their perch on Mt. Olympus, the Gods of ancient Greece spin their magic into fantastic landscapes while conjuring cunning exploits for the humans they have chosen to meddle with far below. For children and adults.     Imagination Express with Steve the Magic Conductor: July 18 at 11 a.m. A magical program that makes books disappear, clocks appear and, with a little imagination, fairy tales come true. For families. You will be provided a YouTube link before the performance.

    Storytimes & Music do not require registration. Come one, come all. All will be released weekly beginning July 6 on the Children’s private Facebook page, and also in the weekly e-newsletters.
