Warwick won her heart.

On Thursday, May 13, Mayor Michael Newhard and members of the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce joined owner Kim Williamson, her staff and associates to celebrate the grand opening of Shanti Life with a ribbon cutting.

The business, which specializes in CBD products, is located at 10 Main St., in the Village of Warwick.

Williamson, a native of Scotland who now lives in Warwick, said Shanti is Sanskrit for peace, and every product in her shop is designed to comfort and relax.

She emphasized that her hemp-based products, balms, oils and teas are not psychoactive and do not make you high. The cannabinoids found in the hemp plant work with the endocannabinoid system. And there are many cannabinoid receptors in our body and our body requires cannabinoids to help create homeostasis balance) in the body.

Williamson studied Yoga and Ayurveda in India and has lived in several countries including, the UK and the Middle East. But she said that Warwick won her heart.

“I didn’t choose Warwick, it chose me,” she said. “And I plan to develop Ayurveda and plant-based skin care with CBD, anti-stress and anti-inflammatory lotions and potions.”

Williamson is also a herbalist and has created various herbal infusion teas that are featured in the shop. And each is designed to highlight relaxation and calmness.

“I am busy working to bring health and well-being products to my neighbors,” she said. “I love to share information on the cannabis hemp plant and to educate others about its many beneficial properties to help relieve stress, anxiety, pain and inflammation. CBD is also helpful with sleep issues. Pop in for a cuppa and chat. “

Shanti Life is open every day except Monday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and on Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
