Its mission is to work as an adjunct to your physician addressing the needs not met through traditional medicine.

On Thursday, Sept. 12, Town of Warwick Supervisor Michael Sweeton and members of the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce joined founders Mary Comerford-Hewitt and her daughter Jessica, staff, friends, patrons and supporters to celebrate the Vazendah Wellness Center grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. .

Vazendah is located at 20 Spring St. in the Village of Warwick.

“Our care,” said Comerford-Hewitt, “is meant to enrich all dimensions of your well-being by giving you the space and attention to be heard and heal. Our holistic therapies have stood the test of time and help you to heal from the inside out. These therapies combined with traditional medicine, wellness coaching, diet, and exercise can help you take back control of your health, feel better, and achieve optimal wellness.”

She explained that today in our fast paced and stressful world, wellness is not what you usually turn to when you don’t feel well.

“You may be under the care of a physician, who is doing a great job treating your disease,” she said, “but medicine is so specialized now it no longer looks at you the whole person. Our licensed, experienced staff provides acupuncture, massage, Reiki, Shamanic Healing and Integrated Energy therapy with the intention of helping you feel better.”

Vazenda’s staff members have advanced training and certifications to take care of people who have medical conditions like arthritis, cancer, and diabetes.

“Time goes by very quickly, and there is no medicine for regret,” said Comerford-Hewitt.
