George Laurence, a presence in the Town of Warwick for nearly 30 years with his unique eye for antiques and other collectibles, has just opened a new shop with his daughter Alexis, friends Terri Clarke, Marilyn Perillo and Jeanne Thompson

The Eclectic Eye & Company is now at 42 North Main St. in the Village of Florida.

“We urge you to come and explore our new digs,” said Laurence. “Guaranteed you will enjoy your visit and want to come back and visit again and again. We are proud to have put together a wonderful array of the best of items; contemporary, vintage and antique in a super setting.”

The firm will also buy items, accept consignments and manage estate sales.

Laurence has been in the antique business for most of his life and, as many of his clients know, he is a foremost authority of Glidden pottery.

As the longtime former owner of The Garage at the Eclectic Eye on Railroad Avenue in Warwick and later in Pine Island’s That Place at the Onion, he and the vendors who rented space, featured a mix of American, Continental and Asian antiques along with furniture, art and accessories of all kinds from the 18th and 19th centuries.

Currently The Eclectic Eye & Company store hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday and other times by appointment.

Contact numbers are 845-651-1936 for the shop and 845-239-2660 to reach George Laurence directly.
