Erich Korman

    Erich Korman of Warwick passed away on Monday, Dec. 9, 2019. He was 85 years old.

    Born in Hoboken, N.J., on July 11, 1934, he was the son of Henrietta Flacke Korman and Erich Korman.

    Erich was an officer in the United States Navy.

    Erich was a graduate of Princeton University, employed by Metropolitan Life Insurance Company as a Systems Analyst.

    After retirement, he was a tour explainer for more than ten years with the American Museum of Natural History.

    His family's statement reads: “Erich loved his family and friends and was grateful for the opportunity to serve in the U.S. Navy. He believed in the importance of science and the critical need to protect the natural world.”

    Survivors include his wife, Adrienne Strehlow; children Claudia and Anders Korman; stepchildren Taimi and Todd Strehlow; three grandchildren: Lily, Louis and Thea; sister Elise Korman; niece Elise Cook and her son, Ethan.

    Private cremation arrangements were made by Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick.
