Doris Morgiewicz of Pine Island passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2021. She was 90 years old.
She was born April 8, 1931, in Warwick, the daughter of John and Estella Garrison VanDuzer.
She was a member of St. Stanislaus Church in Pine Island.
She was exceptionally proud of her vegetable garden and the bountiful harvests it produced, sharing it with family and friends over the year. Doris was passionate about the wide variety of flowers she grew by engaging in many seed exchanges.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter Diane Scilippi and her husband Thomas of Mongaup Valley; her son Gregory Morgiewicz of Pine Island; her daughter Lynn Rabena and her husband Sonny of Woodland, California; and her daughter Donna Bierstine – Albert and her husband Joseph of Middletown; grandchildren: Jessica Lucas and Nicole Bierstine; her great grandchildren: Aiden, Wyatt, Ethan and Josephine; brother Donald VanDuzer; sister-in-law Theresa Wozny; and many nieces and nephews.
Doris was predeceased by her beloved husband Constantine, sisters Elsie, Marion, Wylda, Beatrice, Marjorie and Evelyn and brothers John, Russell, Frank, Loyd and Stanley.
Visitation was held July 22 at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 County Route 1, Pine Island, NY 10969.
A funeral mass was held July 23 at St. Stanislaus Church, 17 Pulaski Highway, Pine Island.
Burial was in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
