Alberta H. Meyer

    Alberta H. Meyer of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, and formerly of Monroe, New York, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020, at The Valley View Center for Nursing Care & Rehabilitation in Goshen. She was 83 years old.

    The daughter of Albert Battistella and Lucia Gronman, Alberta was born on Feb. 21, 1937, in the Bronx.

    She was a retired school bus driver for the Monroe-Woodbury School District in Central Valley.

    Alberta was the widow of Albert Meyer. Together they raised their children in Monroe.

    Upon retirement they moved to New Smyrna Beach, Florida, where they enjoyed entertaining and traveling with a close-knit group of friends.

    Survivors include her children: Ray Meyer and his wife Irene of New Windsor, Carol Smith and her husband Marty of Chatham, Virginia, and Stephen Meyer and his wife June of Warwick; and seven grandchildren: Patrick (Amanda), Nicholas, Caitlin (Brian), Andy, Cullen, Eric and Kieran; and three great-grandchildren: Brett, Wyatt and Leon, and dear niece Barbara Capriotti and family.

    She was predeceased by her son, John H. Meyer and her brother, Richard Davalos.

    Due to COVID-19, services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
