WARWICK – If you’re not planning to stand in Times Square all day to see the ball drop at midnight, the Village of Warwick invites you to the Apple Eve gathering and Apple Drop tonight at 11:30 p.m. on Railroad Green.

The countdown begins just prior to midnight.

Five years ago, during Warwick’s first ever New Year’s Eve community celebration, Mayor Michael Newhard had suggested that Apple Eve become an annual event.

“I think we created an event to come together as a community,” he said at that time. “That’s what Warwick is all about.”

Before the pandemic the popular event often included hot drinks, baked goods and, on occasion, a surprise visit by the “Headless Horseman.”

But nevertheless, everyone is invited to bring noisemakers to herald in the New Year.
