Liz was born in the Bronx, on Sept. 27, 1943 to Ronald and Rosa Dieterle.
Her family moved to Greenwood Lake in her younger years where she attended Greenwood Lake Elementary school.
She graduated, as salutatorian, from Monroe-Woodbury High School in 1961.
After moving to New York City to pursue a career, she met her loving husband Nick, while he was serving in United States Navy. They were married on June 28, 1963 and enjoyed 54 years of wedded bliss.
Following the birth of their two sons, Nicholas Jr. and Raymond, the family returned to Warwick to establish their roots in Liz’s cherished hometown.
Liz was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Liz’s wonderful grandchildren provided her with much joy and happiness. Their presence always brought a smile to her face and gave her many precious memories.
She always put family members before herself and made each one feel as if he or she was her favorite.
Liz’s enjoyment of her three parrots and two dogs was evident in the love and daily care she provided to them, especially her favorite long-hair shepherd, Rosie.
Liz took great pride in her home and garden, which was apparent in her perfectly decorated rooms and abundance of vegetables yearly.
She is survived by her husband, Nick; her son Nicholas Maurer Jr. and his wife Tammy of Warwick; her son Raymond Maurer of West Milford, N.J.; her grandchildren: Danielle, Samantha, Nicholas, Dylan, and Nicole; and many brother and sister in laws as well as several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her beloved grandson, Michael Maurer, her parents, Ronald and Rosa, and her brother, Gerry.
