Albert Wisner Public Library announces musical programs for August

WARWICK — The Albert Wisner Public Library’s River Birch Patio will be the place for music and dance at the Library this August.
The performances are free and open to the public.
Bring a blanket or a chair for the lawn. In case of inclement weather the performance will move indoors to the Community Room where seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis. No registration is required.
Bollywood Dance with Rupa Parikh
Friday, Aug. 24
6 to 7 p.m. Traditional henna hand painting.
7 p.m. Dancing begins,
Join Rupa for Bollywood dancing - a modern dance style from India inspired by Indian movies known for their elaborate musical dance numbers and upbeat music focusing on celebrating life. Have fun learning traditional/modern dance moves, poses, mudras (hand gestures) and expressions to give you an authentic Bollywood dancing experience.
Dancing for all ages – bring the family.
Come early and have your hands painted with henna. The art of applying henna to the hands and feet is known as Mehndi and is traditionally used for celebrations and rites of passage.
Mozart and More with the London Trio and guest
Sunday, Aug. 26, at 2 p.m.
The library's final performance for the summer season features a return visit of the London Trio.
The London Trio is a flute, violin and cello ensemble in the tradition of Franz Joseph Haydn’s London trios. For this performance they have added a guest cello.
Featuring flutist Carla Auld, violinist Gabriel Schaff, violist Entela Barci and cellist Lanny Paykin, they will be performing the well-loved Mozart Flute Quartet in D Major and much, much, more, including some musical history to enhance your listening pleasure.
