WARWICK — The Town of Warwick and the Villages of Warwick, Greenwood Lake and Florida have announced the launch of an events platform for the community in partnership with Burbio.com, a free website iOS and Android app that puts school, library, government and community events in one place for the town and all the villages.

With Burbio.com residents can select calendars to follow, create a personalized event feed, sync events to their Google or Apple calendar and be notified when things change.

Burbio is free for residents and free for non-profits to stream their events.

“This initiative allows residents to access Warwick information and activities in one easy place,” said Town Supervisor Michael Sweeton, who joined Mayors Newhard, Dwyer and Harter of the villages in supporting the initiative. “Burbio.com’s accessible platform, which is personalized and easy to use on both a phone and a desktop, delivers information to residents in a way that reflects the way the live their digital lives.”

Burbio’s platform reads event data feeds from public calendars and automatically updates when the source site changes, notifying users who have synced their calendars.

Burbio.com is currently populated with all school, government, and library information from the Town and Villages, plus several non-profits.

Any group can contact Burbio for help in getting their events listed.

Burbio’s civic partnerships include the City of White Plains, Stamford Conn., Ridgewood, Glen Rock and Livingston, N.J., and many more communities.

“Warwick is a wonderful community and we are thrilled to be introduced,” said Burbio co-founder Julie Roche, a mother of four who designed the service and runs the technology. “Local event communication hasn’t kept pace with digital innovation as well as other categories like maps, music, and travel and our mission is to change that.”
