Warwick teen dies in car crash

The Town of Warwick Police Department is investigating the cause of a single-car motor vehicle accident that resulted in the death of John Guerra, 17, of Warwick, on Monday night.

The accident was first reported around 10:35 p.m. after a 2005 Honda Civic going south on Union Corners Road in the area of Wheeler Road rolled over and crashed against a tree. Guerra was driving and alone in the car. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The New York State Police, Florida Fire Department, Warwick Ambulance and the Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office all assisted at the scene.

John was a student and star basketball player at SS Seward High School in Florida.
