Learn how to lower cholesterol levels by eating healthy

WARWICK — There is a definite connection between eating healthy and staying well and more is better when it comes to fruits and vegetables.
On Tuesday, Sept. 26, at 5:30 p.m., in celebration of National Cholesterol Education Month, Morrison Healthcare specialists of St. Anthony Community Hospital, under the direction of Mark Brezina, CDM, will present a free informational event featuring the many nutritional benefits of choosing to eat more vibrantly colored fruits and vegetables.
The event, which will be held in the Greenbrier Room at Mount Alverno Center, 20 Grand St., in the Village of Warwick, will be hosted and presented by Janine Killeen, RD, CDE, CDN along with other presenters Lynn Palmieri DTR, Gigi Fried, RD, and Chef Brian Smyth, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America.
During the evening guests will have an opportunity to learn how to lower cholesterol levels featuring a cooking demonstration using local market fruits and vegetables, lean meats and foods with soluble fiber. And free product samples will be provided as well as a tasting from the cooking demonstration.
Mount Alverno Center, 20 Grand Street, is just a few blocks past St. Anthony Community Hospital and there is ample parking.
