Terpsichore captures top honors at True Talent competition

WEST MILFORD, N.J. — Three dance companies and a group of soloists and twosomes representing Terpsichore the Dancerschool in Monroe earned top honors at the regional True Talent Dance Competition, held earlier in April at West Milford High School in New Jersey.
The Senior, Junior A and Hip-Hop companies and the solo and duet performers competed against dance schools in northern New Jersey and Brooklyn.
This was the second competition the school was a part of for this dance season.
Group performancesTeen Large Group: Lyrical/Competitive
• “Praying,” performed by Junior Company A, earning first place with a platinum award and named fifth place Overall Teen Large Group
Teen Large Group: Hip-Hop/Competitive
• “Bring Em Out,” performed by Hip-Hop Company, earning first place and a high gold award
Teen Large Group: Jazz/Competitive
• “Another Day Of Sun,” performed by Senior Company, earning second place with a platinum award and recipient of The Broadway Bound Award
Teen Large Group: Musical Theater/Competitive
• “On Broadway,” performed by Senior Company, earning second place with a platinum award
Solo performances• “If My Friends Could See Me Now, performed by Emily Rita, first place with a platinum award and recipient of The Broadway Bound Award
• “Lay Your Head Down, performed by Megan Casey, first place with a platinum award
• “Can't Hold Us,” performed by Alexis Newman, first place with a platinum award
• “Salute, performed by Abby Auty, first place with a high gold award
• Poker Face,” performed by Jenna Scerbo, second place with a platinum award and an invitation to participate in True Talent’s forthcoming “Dance Warz”
• “Walk Away," performed by Adelia Salerno, second place with a high gold award
• “I Found,” performed by Sofia Bevacqua, third place with a platinum award
• “Battlefield” performed by Bridget Quiroga, third place with a platinum award
• “Turning Tables,” performed by Emma Katzman, fourth place with a high gold award
• “Feeling Good,” performed by Juliet Hennessy, fifth place with a high gold award
• “Rise Up,” performed by Jenna Sommerlad, seventh place with a high gold award and an invitation to participate in True Talent’s forthcoming “Dance Warz”
• “Little Miss Perfect," performed by Sydni Belnick, seventh place with a high gold award
• “Breathe of Life, Kerry Behringer, eighth place with a high gold award
Duet performances • “Believer,” performed by Ava Tomford and Grace McCleary, third place with a high gold award and recipient of The Unison Award
• “Helium,” performed by Alexa Roman and Kamryn Madar, fourth place with a high gold award
